The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre is a teaching museum dedicated to promoting human rights, social justice and genocide awareness through education and remembrance of the Holocaust. It takes many people to fulfill this mandate, including a group of dedicated volunteers.
Docents are enthusiastic, committed volunteers who lead school and occasional public tours of exhibits. The Centre is looking for people with strong communication skills, who are available mornings or afternoons at least one day a week, Monday to Friday during the school year. Teaching experience, knowledge of history and spoken French are assets. Training is provided.
Other volunteer positions may include clerical work, translation, library or archive assistance.
Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older.
