The Wosk Publishing
Program was established as an Endowment Fund by Morris J. Wosk and
Yosef Wosk in 1999. The goal of the program is to publish books
which contribute to a deeper understanding of the Holocaust and
its impact on society. The program hopes to publish a book approximately
every two years. Proceeds from the sale of these published works
are returned to the endowment fund to support future publishing
projects.
The VHEC will consider manuscripts on topics such as: survivor memoirs,
Holocaust fiction and non-fiction, Holocaust education and curricula,
VHEC conference proceedings and VHEC exhibit catalogues. Only
completed manuscripts will be considered.
Priority will be given to submissions from Canada, and in particular, from British Columbia. Manuscripts
must be in English and no more than 500 pages in length. Manuscripts,
which require considerable editorial work to bring them up to current
publishing standards, may not be considered.
An independent editorial board reviews all manuscripts
received within a year. Submission deadline
is April 30th of every year
The selection is based on the following criteria:
- Fulfills the mandate of the publishing program.
- Contributes to our understanding of the Holocaust
and its implications for society.
- Has strong literary merit.
- Is accessible to a wide audience.
