FILM SCREENINGS
The VHEC, in partnership with the Jewish Film Festival, is pleased to present two compelling films exploring Holocaust memory and intergenerational storytelling.
Crossing the River
Directed by Allan Novak, Crossing the River follows the world’s oldest living Holocaust survivor siblings—now 101, 100, 98, and 96 years old. Spanning more than a century of one family’s history, the film weaves together decades of home footage as Novak pieces together their remarkable past.
Special Guest: Director Allan Novak
Inked: Our Stories Remarked
Directed by Dara Bratt, Inked examines the growing phenomenon of third-generation descendants of Holocaust survivors honouring their ancestors with commemorative Holocaust tattoos. The film explores the deeply personal and complex meanings behind these acts of remembrance.
Special Guest: Director Dara Bratt
Ticket information will be available soon for both film screenings!
