The Second Generation Group is a support group for children of Holocaust survivors who want to share their experiences of growing up in the shadow of the Holocaust and their parents’ stories of survival.
Some members of the group knew from a young age that they were Jewish; other members only discovered this identity as adults. The group is diverse, with differing political, religious and social views among the members, who come together to discuss various topics, including intergenerational transmission of trauma and resilience, post-traumatic growth and healing. Group members share personal stories and emotions in a safe, accepting and confidential environment.
