The Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre stewards Western Canada’s largest Holocaust-related museum collection, archives, Holocaust testimony project, library, rare books and special collections and resource centre. The VHEC’s holdings are the result of generous donations from survivors, families and community members. Many survivors and people in the community have Holocaust-related artefacts, even the smallest of which can tell an important story.

Artefacts offer a rich resource for engaging with primary sources of historical evidence and many items from the collection represent a Canadian perspective on the history of the Holocaust. Primary source materials inspire curiosity because they are tangible, personal links to individuals of the past and enable visitors to see history as a series of human events.

Materials are used in exhibitions, classroom workshops and are available through our online catalogue.
